Robert (Bobby) D. Faulk, M.S., M.A. (CV, Google Scholar)
Entry Year: 2019-2020 Email: [email protected] Office Location: Gordon Palmer Hall 186 Bobby hails from Mobile, Alabama where he attended the University of South Alabama. There he earned his B.A. in Psychology, M.S. in Experimental Psychology, and M.A. in Sociology, and he was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. His primary research interests revolve around the relations among socio-environmental factors (e.g., stress, parenting, social status) and psychophysiological functioning. His dissertation research focuses on mapping aspects of natural language use during an argument onto interpersonal goals. He likes to spend his free time playing video games, hunting fossils and rockhounding with his geologist wife, and trying new things to eat. |
Adrian C. Williams, M.S.
Entry Year: 2020-2021 Email: [email protected] Adrian's research interest focuses on the psychological and biological mechanisms linking social-environmental influences on health. He is particularly interested in elucidating how social risk and protective factors (e.g., socioeconomic status, social relationships, stress, discrimination) translate into biological changes that impact mental and physical health. Adrian is also a Pre-doctoral Scholar in the Health Policy Research Scholars program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, led by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. |
Carson R. Schmitz, B.A. (CV, ResearchGate)
Entry Year: 2023-2024 Email: [email protected] Office Location: Gordon Palmer Hall 241A Carson graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in Psychology and subsequently worked in a developmental psychology post-baccalaureate position through the University of Rochester at the Mt. Hope Family Center. Her research interests focus on the impact of individual difference factors, such as racial/ethnic background, environmental stress, and socioeconomic position on health disparities and the maintenance of problematic anxiety. Her current work examines the interpersonal correlates of social anxiety through a biopsychosocial lens. Carson likes to spend her free time training her dog, cooking, boxing, and playing board games with her partner. |
Kashope (Kash) I. Anifowoshe, B.A. (CV, ResearchGate)
Entry Year: 2024-2025 Email: [email protected] Kash earned her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2022, majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Psychology. After graduation, she worked as a Clinical Trials Associate at an academic medical center collaborating on research projects aimed at enhancing psychosocial outcomes for adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes and their primary caregivers. Kash's research interests center on the impact of race-related stress on physical and mental health, with a focus on understanding the mechanisms linking such stress to adverse health outcomes and racial and ethnic health disparities. She is also passionate about developing evidence-based interventions to alleviate race-related stress. In her free time, Kash enjoys painting, practicing yoga, and exploring new restaurants. |
